As of April 1, 2024, the Essential Plan now includes individuals with incomes up to 250% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). This expansion means more New Yorkers can access quality health insurance without monthly premiums.

The 2025 Essential Plan offers:
- $0 Out-of-Pocket for Pregnancy and Postpartum Services: Including up to eight doula visits and extended care up to one year postpartum.
- $0 Out-of-Pocket for Diabetes Services: Covering preventive services, medical care, supplies, tests, and prescription drugs related to diabetes.
- Comprehensive Coverage: Including doctor visits, hospital care, screenings, prescription medications, dental, and vision benefits.
Simplified Enrollment
Eligible individuals can enroll in the Essential Plan at any time during the year. There’s no need to wait for an open enrollment period, making it easier to access coverage when needed.
