Are you affiliated with OPWDD?
No. OPWDD is a New York State agency and eligibility is determined by the state. We are a private consulting firm that helps families prepare applications and connect with licensed providers.
Does insurance cover ABA therapy in New York?
Yes — Medicaid and most commercial insurance in New York cover medically-necessary ABA for children with an autism diagnosis. Authorization requirements and hour caps vary by plan.
What is Self-Direction?
Self-Direction is an OPWDD program that lets families design and manage their own service budget — hiring staff directly, choosing programs, and building a plan around the child instead of around a facility schedule.
How long does OPWDD eligibility take?
Once a complete application is submitted, determinations usually come back in 60–120 days. Missing documentation is the biggest cause of delay, which is what we help you avoid.
